It's our civil right to retain what we have already earned! The VA has no purpose outside of the military, the military has no purpose set apart from the VA. They are not corporations.. why do they try to act like they are! The military = Defense; The VA = Defense. I'm a Vet, have an honorable discharge and am service-connected 70%. I am still serving, in my heart and mind as is every Vet I know. Many of us face a battle everyday, we wait 2 years for the military to say he/she is service-connected, without an appeal!! Whether it's PTSD, MST, Loss of Limb, etc. Soldier = Defense. Service Connected Vet = Defense. A service connected injury/condition isn't a helmet you can take off at will!! By granting this, we bring more dollars to the Defense budget, takes nothing from retirees!!
