We encourage the US government to grant refuge to gay and lesbian citizens of countries that imprison or execute people for simply being gay. We also encourage the US government to deny visas to those anti-gay government, religious, business and other officials in these countries to the United States. Gay people in the countries of Somalia, Uganda, Mauritania, Nigeria, Gambia, Cameroon, Saudi Arabia, Russia and Iran should be encouraged to apply for refuge status at US Embassies, Consulates and at the border of the United States and should be granted refuge upon confirmation of their persecution for simply being gay or promoting gay civil rights in these countries.
