New England and New York are leaders among the states, being economic, industrial, and technological powerhouses, as well as carrying with them their own unique culture. However, this is being oppressed by the other 43 states of the Union; the expenses incurred on New England and New York is excessive, as more in tax dollars is contributed by these states than is gained; in effect, they pay for the rest of the country. Furthermore, they are not represented politically, and are divergent from the rest of the country in this matter.
Therefore, independence from the United States as the sovereign Republic of New York and New England should be adopted immediately.
