At 91 years of age, former president and chair of Marvel Comics, Stan Lee (Stanley Martin Lieber), continues to make a significant contribution to the Arts. While some might not give any serious thought to the merit of being a writer, editor, and publisher of comic books, Mr. Lee's cultural contribution is both outstanding and awe-inspiring. His reach extends to every form of media known to man. And, his work has extended into nearly every home in America and all throughout the world. He is an inspiration to writers and producers of every kind. He contribution has helped to generate thousands of jobs and add billions of dollars to the economy. Time and again, his work has promoted heroism, justice, respect, tolerance, and the adoption of a moral code. He deserves this award.
