When it becomes necessary for a people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them, respect requires they should declare the causes which impel them to separate.
The American government was instituted to derive its just powers from consent of the governed. It has become destructive of these ends, by the imposition of edicts that serve the few at the grave cost to the many and their progeny. These policies and programs have destroyed the moral and financial fabric of the people. It is the Right of the People to abolish their bond and institute new Government.
Whereas, the people of Connecticut recognize America guilty of the aforementioned and request the peaceful solution to secede from said union of America, to build a government that better suits citizens of Connecticut.
