We the people of the great state of Washington wish to form our own government of the people, by the people, and for the people.
We see that the Federal Government is leading this country in the wrong direction and that its policies will increase government intrusion into our private lives. We, the undersigned, do not believe that the federal government can or should attempt to regulate every facet of life in the United States. But that power should be returned to the states so that the people's voices can be heard.
As the founding fathers stated in Declaration of Independence in 1776: "When in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them,"
We, the people of Washington state, believe that time has come.
