As part of a country that was founded on democratic representation, the 600,000 residents of DC deserve a voice in Congress and control over their own budget and policies. For too long DC has been handcuffed by Congressional leaders playing politics with the city's laws and budget and rendering local leadership unable to properly govern the city's affairs.
