The First Amendment to the United States Constitution "prohibits the making of any law respecting an establishment of religion, impeding the free exercise of religion, abridging the freedom of speech, infringing on the freedom of the press, interfering with the right to peaceably assemble or prohibiting the petitioning for a governmental redress of grievances." Legally, schools are given the right and are protected under this amendment for students, faculty & staff to exercise religion, freely. It is requested that the Obama Administration grant states authority to allow individual schools to independently determine to allow 3-5 minutes of silence for individual morning prayer. We believe returning prayer to schools would help strengthen the moral fabric of these United States of America.
