Grant a temporary 50% payment on all service connected VA claims that are over 400 days old.
Currently, there is a record backlog of veterans claims at theVeterans Administration. This causes severe financial difficulties on veterans who must pay their own medical costs until the claim is decided.
By offering the temporary 50% payment veterans who have been waiting for over a year for their claim to be settled could find financial relief.
Once the claim is settled then the 50% temporary payment would come out of the back pay. If the claim is ultimately denied normal federal collection procedures would apply.
