CNN commentator Piers Morgan has called for tighter regulation of firearms to protect innocent men, women and children from being gunned down in our streets, malls, movie theaters and schools.Gun-control opponents are now petitioning to have Mr. Morgan deported for speaking out. The First Amendment to the Constitution protects free speech in America, and it does not distinguish between citizens and non-citizens. Piers Morgan was exercising his First Amendment rights when he spoke. There's a reason the First Amendment is the first one in the Bill of Rights: Free speech is the cornerstone of our Democracy! It's more important than gun ownership. Rather than being deported for speaking candidly about guns, Piers Morgan should be granted U.S. citizenship.
