Grant Washington, D.C. statehood to give the citizens there autonomy over their city and not be controlled by congress.

Right now, Washington, D.C. is essentially run by congress. The reason is because back in the late 1700s, congress wanted a place they had complete control over (because they wanted to protect themselves from another rebellion of the army like the one that happened in 1783). Back in the 1700s that made sense, but in 2015 it is causing major problems. D.C. Does have a mayor and city council but they still have to submit all their ideas to congress. D.C. Does have a delegate in congress but that delegate cannot vote on any bills or issues. We need this outdated congressional rule to stop and give the citizens of D.C. autonomy and the ability to govern themselves.
