There used to be a time in America when we as a people could look to our president and say 'Sir I may not agree with your politics, but I can respect your hair style.'
Long gone are the days of Martin Van Buren's sideburns, so long they could be combed over to hide the bald spot on his head. Or Honest Abe Lincoln's chin-strap that struck fear into the heart of the Confederacy, or Chester Arthur's mighty muttonchops which helped to heal a post war America.
In fact, America has been missing a good mustache on a president since William Taft and there is a solid argument to be made that we have been going downhill ever since.
Please Mr. President, grow out your hair. For America.
