Guarantee participation of popular third-party candidates in presidential debates

Created by J.B. on November 12, 2012

Any presidential candidate whose name appears on the ballot in states with total electoral votes exceeding 269 should be allowed to participate in the major televised debates. These candidates have already demonstrated that they are competitive nationally. They should be given a fair chance to discuss the issues with the Democratic and Republican nominees before the American people.

Propose and support legislation, which would be effective beginning in 2016 or 2020, guaranteeing any such presidential candidate access to all televised debates featuring the major party nominees for president. Regardless of what we may think about their beliefs, censorship of popular third party candidates has no place in this free country.
