With the recent outbreak of media reporting of murders, whether single or mass events, as the acts of mentally ill individuals, people with mental illness are facing increased prejudice. We ask the President to guide media and law enforcement to avoid the generic "mental illness" phrase when describing psychopathic/sociopathic behavior, and instead either be specific in the term "psychopathy" or not use the term "mentally ill" at all when discussing cases of violence. Psychopathy is separate, if sometimes happening at the same time as other conditions.
