The 2nd amendment will continue to be an effective shield against meaningful reform of firearms regulation. The 2nd amendment must therefore be replaced via constitutional amendment. President Obama should lead a national campaign to build support for this amendment.
The gun rights lobby is loud, powerful and resourceful but does not represent the majority. Most Americans want SANE gun policy but the 2nd amendment is the enemy of gun reform. It must therefore be replaced or attempts at legislation will be overturned under 2nd Amendment challenges.
