GIT (Gun Incident Tax) would shift the expense of all the shootings to the people and organizations that are responsible for creating such easy access to guns in America.
Every month, they would get a bill based on the cost of all the gun related incidents and expenses of the previous month. So if there are more, they would get a bigger bill. This would motivate them to find ways to reduce the number and keep the NRA and other lobbying organizations from pushing irresponsible laws.
Coupled with a generous, full retail, no questions asked gun buy back program would turn the tide on this terrible situation.
