Gun Insurance

We the People have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
We have the right to own firearms.
We have the right to own cars.
We are required to have insurance for the cars we own, yet not the guns we own. This does not make sense when damages and losses enabled by a gun are greater than any damage possible with a car. The NRA has blocked any regulation of firearms such that the ATF is barred from using any modern technology to register guns and the ATF is reduced to using a paper card catalog system from 1930s. The NRA is fearful of any government registration of gun owners, so lets get rid of any government registration and let the private insurance companies protect the data on gun owners from the government and apply their actuarial models & background/credit checks.
