The big problem with gun control is that it is the law-abiding good citizens, and not those intent on committing the tragedies like those in Colorado, who obey these laws. It is hard not to notice, but very aggressive gun control hasnt prevented multiple-victim public shootings in Europe. With just a single exception, the attack in Tucson last year, every public shooting in the U.S. in which more than three people have been killed since at least 1950 has occurred in a place where citizens are not allowed to carry their own firearms. Since the federal gun ban expired in 2003, the US has actually had a decrease in the murder rate from 5.7 per 100,000 people to 4.7 in 2011. Germany has some of the strictest laws on guns, has had 3 of the worst K-12 shootings in world history!
