OK I thought about it and have come up with this idea for gun safety:
1. All guns have a GPS chip embedded. If you are caught with a gun lacking the chip, you go to jail and your gun is taken. You can, of course, appeal, etc.
2. A tracking system is implemented, and "Red Zones" are outlined for sensitive areas (schools, parks, business areas, etc.) If you bring a gun into a "Red Zone" you are put in jail and you lose your guns.
3. A nationwide screening and mental health system is established to issue permits for certain individuals to carry NON-MILITARY style guns in "Red Zones". There is a yearly evaluation.
