With all due respect, it has become clear that the Police forces lack the resources to stop the gun violence plaguing the citizens of Chicago. This city has some of the strictest laws in the Nation, which are supposed to stop violence caused by firearms. Those laws are clearly ineffective. This petition requests a different course of action to confront the problem. Please deploy the United States National Guard or some other relevant military unit to the most impacted areas so peace and safety can be restored.
