Julian Assange, one of the world's best known fugitives, is currently held under siege in the Ecuadorian embassy in Britain. If he ever steps foot outside, he will immediately be caught and extradited to Sweden on allegations of rape. However, this is not the problem. Assange says he will happily run through the judicial system in Stockholm. What he fears is that the United States will demand that he be sent to them and that, once on U.S. grounds, he will be tried for espionage. As he says, the White House really has nothing to do with this case, they just want revenge for the damage caused by Wikileaks, which is why I'm asking the Obama Administration to guarantee that, if Assange appears, to not extradite him to the U.S. for further punishment unreleated to the original case.
