As we know there is no hard defined rule on how much time you can stay in status after being laid off by the company.
Problem> Technically the day when you laid off, is considered to be the final day in active status.
Petition Aim> US government should allow at-least 60-90 days grace period to find the alternate option/s on what to do.
Things to be considered> Foreign worker might have their families, kids, and their homes settled in US itself. If you make him/her go out of the status immediately would put him/her in horrible problems. Sometimes, it's hard to relocate from one place to another within sort period of notice.
Extra grace period is atleast deserved considering the talent which foreign skilled workers are bringing.
