The Russian Federation's recently passed bill banning the spread of "homosexual propaganda" is dangerous to the already marginalized LGBT community in the nation. To make matters worse, the law will threaten the thousands of athletes and tourists who will make their way to the Olympic games in February.
A boycott will accomplish nothing besides crushing the dreams of countless U.S. athletes who have worked so hard to participate in these games.
The United States needs to send a real message to the Duma and President Putin. Tell the Russian Federation: Until the repeal of your anti-human rights legislation, ALL trade with the United States will stop. The slicing at the jugular of the Russian economy will cause these legislators to rethink their position.
