We have a law in place pertaining to the processing of immigrant minors from non-contiguous nations. That law was enacted for good reasons, and we should follow that law with respect to the children who are fleeing unbearable conditions in Central America, many of whom would undoubtedly be entitled to asylum on humanitarian grounds. Those who claim that this recent immigration is a "crisis" are exaggerating for political purposes. The majority of these children likely have relatives here and will be cared for by family until their cases can be heard. Our nation is able to resolve the claims of entitlement for asylum of these children in a rational manner, and according to the requirements of the law. Stop the illegal and inhumane deportations now.
