We the people ask the federal government to Change an existing Administration policy:

Halt Deportations of Residents Eligible for Citizenship under Adoptee Citizenship Act of 2015

Created by M.B. on October 27, 2016

On October 27, 2016, several news outlets drew attention to the plight of Adam Crapser, a 41-year-old father of 4 who was adopted from South Korea by American citizens at the age of three. Since his adoptive parents never completed his citizenship paperwork, he has no legal immigration status and is now facing deportation.

We call on the federal government to halt deportations of U.S. residents eligible for citizenship under the proposed Adoptee Citizenship Act of 2015, until the act is passed by Congress. Under this act, people brought to the U.S. as adopted children, whose parents never completed their citizenship paperwork, will be granted automatic citizenship.

This action is necessary to fulfill the federal government's responsibility to children adopted by U.S. citizens.
