Obama sidestepped Senate approval, and appointed Richard Cordray as head of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau during a break between Senate sessions. . The nomination has been held up while Republicans sought to make reforms to this radical new agency. But this is not a right/left issue. This is an American Constitutional issue. There is no recess, and no excuse for Obama to overturn democracy and our system of checks and balances.
