Halt WVs plan for drilling for Natural Gas under the Ohio River, the primary source of drinking water for 5 million

Created by C.F. on October 01, 2014

The state of West Virginia is planning to lease drilling under the Ohio River. Less than one year ago a contaminate was released into local drinking water causing over 300,000 people to go without water. There were few repercussions for the company. By leasing rights for up to four different drilling sites you are allowing a state that has already proven its inability to monitor environmental disasters to work on larger, more potentially volatile projects. This drilling could adversely affect the drinking water of over 5 million people in both West Virginia and Ohio.
