HAMP AND DIVORCE Request to the FHFA to allow removing spouses from mortgage note through HAMP loan mods. due to divorce

Created by V.F. on January 27, 2013

Women are still in the majority when it comes to divorce, raising the children, and who stays in the family home. Hamp Loan Modifications are the only way a parent can stay in the family home with the children, when one spouse decides on divorce, in all of our No Fault states, and the other spouse has little or no choice. Most times the departing spouse is the main breadwinner, and the other usually works part time and takes care of the home and raising the children. It should be included in HAMP guidelines that the person staying in the home be able to get a loan modification, and in the process remove the departing spouse from the mortgage note.As more often than not, the departing spouse wants to move on with their financial life, and be able to purchase other property for their new life.
