Handout to Subsidize Large Farm Operators.

The goal of this petition is to ask the Obama Administration not to sign any deficit reduction package which includes a handout to subsidize large farm operators.
Some congressional leaders are attempting to sneak in a secret $1 trillion farm bill package into the deficit reduction package. This is a wasteful farm subsidy program with large handouts to commodity farmers who will enjoy higher price guarantees and gold-plated insurance options.
It makes no sense that federal subsidy dollars go overwhelmingly to the largest, most successful landowners and farm operators and it is wrong to pull this flagrant bait and switch on the American taxpayer by hiding it in a deficit reduction package rather than having it presented openly in Congress and its merits debated before the public.
