The amount of money dedicated to non-productive military systems is astronomical. If we dedicate 1/3 of the weapons procurement budget to the procurement of solar and wind energy production systems, we can improve our national security by increasing our energy independence, reduce our greenhouse gas emissions, and use the proceeds from the energy produced to help fund our own Social Security retirement benefits. We can intentionally transition our economy from a 20th Century model of military production to a 21st Century model of clean energy production. Rethink the budget- do not just tinker with the previous year's budget, but start fresh looking not to the paradigm of the past, but with a fresh, clean-slate approach prioritizing energy, environmental, and economic security.
