Harsher Penalties, More Transparency, Better Training For United States Law Enforcement Officers

Created by H.E. on July 08, 2016

All lives are affected by senseless killings. It's a tragedy when at times these senseless killings are committed by police officers. I am proposing, on my own accord, that harsher penalties are imposed on law enforcement who kill citizens, specifically when the citizen is unarmed, restrained, or otherwise not a threat. Further, I petition that race relation and mentally ill scenario training and discussions be mandatory. In addition, to help combat social unrest, it would seem plausible to come up with solutions that provide justice for all, more accountability for the officers' actions, transparency from law enforcement officials so the public is not making its own judgments and reacting, and education including collateral made available to citizens regarding police-citizen interaction.
