The youth of today are having children at much earlier ages. Some children are even being conceived before the person has completed middle school. This is troubling. Children cannot be raised by other children, or the human race will never prosper. The baby will be doomed to a life of either being looked over by the “busy” parent, or following in the footsteps of said parent. Statistics show that 30% of teens who drop out of high school cite pregnancy or parenthood as the reason they dropped out. In addition, 1/3 of young women who drop out of school due to pregnancy never earn their diploma or GED. The future of the United States seems bleak when our youth is making such bad life decisions. The child deserves a stable home and the mother should be able to continue her education.
