Usage of the Metric system has been voluntary in the USA for several decades. Mixing Metric and Standard has cost our country a major space probe and rendered large portions of our industrial base incompatibly with all other nations. Since we are the last country using Standard, it is a point of confusion to anyone visiting from any other country in the world. It is time for our Interstate system to be posted in Metric, as well as Standard. This is within the powers of the Federal government.
