Have arrests to be videotaped, at least those done under warrants - by one of more members of the arresting officers.

Videotaping arrests will help the people, the law officers, the government and society. It will assure the people that a record of the arrest event is being made and can be a witness. The officers have a gentle reminder to exercise their better professionalism and care. The government and society benefits by having an impartial witness-type record of the arrest events and it is to be expected that behaviors of the parties will be better and more peaceful. The actions of both the arrestee(s) and the arresting officers will be more civil and less prone to dangerous escalation as they are aware that they are being recorded. The recording can be done two ways: With handheld cameras by one or more members of the arresting team; or miniature cameras worn on the bodies of the arresting officers.
