I am a regular veteran. I did not join the Special Forces, nor did I have a truly outstanding military career. I signed a contract after 9/11 to fight for my country. I am proud of my time in the service, but I feel that veterans issues are not being taken seriously.
I have a good job. I have a stable family life. But I know that this is not the case for tens of thousands of my sisters and brothers in arms.
I'm asking President Obama to sit with me and a group of my veteran friends to talk about real issues facing most veterans.
The recent suIcide of a fellow veteran and friend prompted this request. He was not homeless or lacking services, in fact quite the opposite. He worked with an organization that helped veterans seek mental health services.
Please help us talk to the President.
