Have Better Control Over the Ebola Crisis

Created by J.W. on October 26, 2014

According to ABC News, two thirds of Americans are worried that Ebola will spread throughout the US. This shows that many American people do not have faith in the government to protect them from this illness. Even though some things are being done to stop a potential epidemic, keeping people quarantined may be done in an inhumane way. For example, Kaci Hickox was a nurse in Sierra Leone, and even though she did not have any symptoms of Ebola, was "confined to a tent equipped with a portable toilet and no shower" (NY Times). Those who are in Africa helping those with the disease are not being treated with the respect that they deserve: as heroes. They are risking their lives to prevent this disease from spreading. There should be something done about this.
