The author of this petition is proposing a simplifying the tax code by eliminating the current tax code and replacing it with either a flat rate tax on all taxpayers or a National Value Added Tax, similar to ones which in currently in European countries. This would entail the elimination of all tax deductions and making the tax system more equal and fair for all Americans.
