Have CHOKING HAZARD WARNING for children under four, to be placed on bagged GRAPES and signs in stores for loose GRAPES

Created by H.A. on September 22, 2011

My Granddaughter Maddie Levitt passed away after her third birthday. The autopsy report showed that Maddie died from one whole grape stuck under her sternum. My goal is to have a bill brought to Congress to have warning stickers placed on packaged GRAPES and signs displayed at produce stands and all stores that sell GRAPES, about the choking risks for young children.

In an article at kidsource.com, the parent or caregiver of an infant or child under four years of age should follow tips from the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Red Cross, and the Centers for Disease Control to reduce the chances of choking. Cut up foods that are firm and round and can get stuck Grapes should be cut into quarters. Believe it or not, most parents & schools are unaware of this information
