to have Congress change Copyright Law

This petition is to have the Obama Administration to ask U.S. Congress to change the copyright law here in the United States. Copyright law is broken and needs to be fixed. Congress seems to IGNORE the public on this issue, allowing content owners to abuse the system and make fictitious claims. Company's use using fictitious DMCA claims against individuals who are making new content or criticizing the content of another party, which is protected under US Fair-Use. Such abuses would not happen if If the law wasn't broken. Congress continues to ignore the issue allowing the companies to stiffen creativity and infringe of rights including speech, all under the banner of Copyright law.
