Have Congress pay American's $2,000 to cover the tax increases if politicians cannot avoid the fiscal cliff on January 1

My petition is a simple one. All I am suggesting is that if our politicians cannot figure out how to spend money, why should we have to give them more? My petition asks that if our elected officials cannot avoid the fiscal cliff come January 1st, that all members of Congress, along with the President himself and the President's Cabinet pay Americans $2,000 to cover the estimated rise in taxes if they cannot avoid the fiscal cliff.
