In order for Congress to grasp the severity of the damage of placing party loyalty ahead of doing what's right for the people of this country, they need to have a personal stake in the 'Fiscal Cliff'.
Should Congress fail to avert the Fiscal Cliff, with a serious solution and not just postpone it, then Congressional salaries are cut by 50%, Congressional healthcare packages are replaced with Medicare and Congressional staffs (institutional and support staff excluded) are reduced by 75% and salaries for the remainder cut by 35%.
Members of Congress should not be exempt from the "belt tightening" they keep telling everyone else to do.
