The Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act (PAEA), has provisions included in the bill that require pension benefits be prefunded for 75 years. This upfront cost has taken a toll on USPS and multiple offices around the country have closed creating a loss of jobs in many areas that cannot afford any additional economic stress on its citizens.
Although it looks like a good idea on paper to close smaller offices with less volume the area they service MUST be taken into account. It does not appear that this is has been happening consistently. Sparsely populated area offices are being closed rapidly and these citizens need your help.
Please have Congress review and remove these provisions and find ways to save & reopen the offices that have closed as a result of this bills enactment.
