Having Congress tackle the same assessments that the students have to take in order to be deemed worthy of the next level of education or life would put a different prospective on the education reform plan this nation currently has. Our education system is failing our students, we are not preparing them for the world stage, as our Dept. of Education's motto suggests, and we are doing them a disservice by spending money on assessments that only take the temperature of the sick patient and do nothing to cure. As Pearson is one of the biggest players in what our education system does, it only makes sense that Congress should take the assessments that Pearson makes and students have to. Publicize their results and I am sure we will start to look at how to support our teachers and students.
