The aviation industry is in constant growth with much of that growth seeded by technicians/mechanics that come from military aviation. If recruits come into the military knowing that their skills will automatically cross over to the civilian sector, that is a recruiting incentive. We need to more closely align military skills to the civilian sector, and not force the military members to pay out of pocket expenses, or spend precious additional time to acquire certifications that should come to them automatically.
