When taking the Oath of Office under Article VI of the Constitution, a promise is made they are under no other influence, but their oath for a faithful and impartial performance of their duties.Yet, a signed pledge is "a solemn binding promise to do, give, or to refrain from doing something." Our system of government for the good of all of the citizens of the United States has been subverted when of the 535 Members of Congress, 279 have signed a pledge to effectively remove from consideration an option used historically. Recently, a "signed solemn pledge" superseded the "Oath of Office" and created an unnecessary major crisis for America.
