Resent studies have show that Cannabis shouldn't be classified as a schedule 1 drug. Furthermore, Cannabis clearly fits the three categories of schedule 3 drug. These three required defining categories are -
1. The drug or other substance has a potential for abuse less than the drugs or other substances in schedules I and II (cannabis addiction rate is 9%, far less than many schedule I and schedule II drugs).
2. The drug or other substance has a currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States (Currently 20 states allow legal medical use, also 15 states are pending medical legalization).
3. Abuse of the drug or other substance may lead to moderate or low physical dependence or high psychological dependence (Cannabis fits the criteria)
Please consider Cannabis reform.
