This petition might seem repetitive. The President should not be decided by the number of electoral votes alone. There needs to be a recognized system in place to combat the presidency of someone who is unable to benefit our country. In fact, a system is already in place for this exact reason. It's the "faithless elector." Currently, we need this system to be respected in order to prevent a catastophe on the national level. A majority of eligible voters decided not to vote for president this year (2016.) That is a problem beacuse there is a lack of accurate representation of the will of the people. It is a responsibility for eligible voters to take part in the election process. Even though the candidate from the democratic party won the popular vote, the other candidate won the election.
