have Erin Pizzey's book Prone to Violence required reading for High School students.

Created by S.A. on May 01, 2013

Erin Pizzey has had her work subject to censorship since it's writing, and making it mandatory will increase attention to domestic violence.

She founded one of the first battered women's shelters in england, as well as one of the first battered men's shelters. She should be taught to our children, not hidden away for eternity. By making this book mandatory reading for high school students, then attention to the true face of domestic violence (as confirmed by the 2006 AJPH domestic violence survey http://ajph.aphapublications.org/doi/full/10.2105/AJPH.2005.079020) that most of it is reciprocal, and that women are the majority of perpetrators in non-reciprocal domestic abuse.
