Have a face-to-face discussion with leading climate scientists on the threat of irreversible climate change

Created by R.C. on March 25, 2013

We petition President Obama to have a face-to-face discussion with leading climate scientists on the threats of irreversible climate change.

Leading climate scientists agree that the global temperature will increase by 2 degrees Celsius, and will most likely increase by 4 or 6 degrees. An increase of 2 degrees will set off a chain of extreme reactions, including rapid sea-level rise and widespread flooding, an increase in extreme weather, food shortages, and price spikes. Increases of 4 or 6 degrees will be much more devastating. The effects of such temperature increases are not reversible because released CO2 stays in the atmosphere for centuries.

President Obama must open a dialogue with climate experts to discuss how the US can be a leader in the fight against climate change.
