The FBI has powerful background checks for government employees and other purposes. We propose to have them do a full spectrum background check of the immediate family or household members of anyone that wants to purchase ammunition or firearms. Per the Brady gun violence group, nearly 40% of gun incidents arise when a person acquires that firearm from a friend or family member.
